As noted in August’s Bulletin, the Commonwealth Government’s changes to Family and Domestic Violence Leave take effect today, 1st August 2023, for small business.  This means that all employees of businesses with fewer than 15 employees are entitled to 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave per year.  (Large businesses are already obliged to comply.)

 

We commend to you a website which details

(a) what you need to do to comply with the new laws;

(b) how to respect privacy and confidentiality; and

(c) what leave and payment processes you could adopt.
