• The Association's staff acts on behalf of members in dealings with the Department of Transport, Department of Education & Early Childhood Development, Roads Corporation and other Government organisations. This includes the submission of claims for increases in contract rates due to replacement of vehicles, additional distance, fluctuations in operating cost, etc.
  • Full use of the Association's administrative offices and staff is open to members to utilise on their behalf in negotiations with the various public authorities, unions, and other organisations with which they normally come in contact.
  • A "Bulletin" newsletter is issued monthly containing items of importance and interest to members. This is the major communication between the organisation and members, forming a vital link in our relationship.
  • Schedules setting out amendments to the various Awards associated with the employment of staff in the transport industry are sent out as soon as any decision is made to vary an Award.
  • The Association has arranged a special Insurance package for private bus operators who are members. This is an extremely attractive arrangement through BusCover. Jardine Australian Insurance Brokers assist in the administration and promotion of this service.
  • Finance for new vehicles has been arranged at very attractive interest rates, particularly for smaller operators. BAV Finance is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association and is developing links with the major banks in Australia. BAV Finance will assist members in their finance requirements with price and service our key commitments.
  • The Association runs an Annual Bus Maintenance Conference and Expo covering developments in maintenance, safety and technological developments.This is the largest gathering of bus and coach owners and their staff in Australia.
  • Regular meetings are held in regional areas throughout the State to allow country members the opportunity to network with other bus operators and discuss issues that affect the industry.
  • Bus Parts Plus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Association and for many years marketed the Comair-Bedford bus throughout Australia. The Company carries most body parts in stock and in addition handles a variety of other parts and accessories, particulars of which are set out in catalogues and price lists issued from time to time. Through bulk buying, the Company is able to purchase at special rates, the benefits from which are passed on to members.
  • Efficient, cost effective annual bus inspections are provided by Road Safety Inspections Pty Ltd. The Company employs only experienced bus testers with an average of 15 years involvement in this type of work. The equipment used is the most modern of its kind in Australia.
